- Commentary
- The translation here is offered tentatively. For ḥdq perhaps compare Arabic ḥadaqa "to surround" (Lane 532a, where the faʿala form is said to have the same meaning as the afʿala form) though in Arabic the verb takes bi- with the object. Note that the ḥ has a form closer to Thamudic B than Dadanitic.
