Interpretation
- Commentary
- As noted by Winnett, the s¹ of ys¹mʿl is not visible on the photograph, though there is space for it, but was present on Thompson's (unpublished) copy, though not on Morton's (published) copy. Since Thompson did not know the Safaitic script (SIJ p. 3) it is unlikely that he would have made an unconscious correction in his copy and it is probable that the s¹ was just visible on the stone even though it does not show up on the photograph. On the photograph the w before rḥ appears to have no cross-stroke.
