Translation
By Ms¹k son of Bdbl son of Ms¹k son of Rfʾt and he made a burnt offering and swore by ʾlh, who is living, that he shall lead with greatness

Commentary

This inscription commemorates an oath by a military commander.

ʾṣlyThe C-stem of ṣly 'to burn, roast'

ʾqs¹m b- ʾlh: Compare with Classical Arabic أقسم بالله 'he swore an oath by Allāh'

ḥy: a participle, 'living', see Al-Jallad 2025c for a discussion on Allāh as the 'living' god.

hdy: The common Safaitic verb to indicate leading a military troop.
