Interpretation

Commentary
The inscription was made by scraping the dark patina of the sandstone around the shapes of the letters, leaving them dark against a light yellow background. It is the equivalent of carving in relief. Exactly the opposite technique can be seen in AH 322, which is immediately above this text, where the dark patinated background has been left and the patina has only been scraped away in the lines forming the letters.
