TRANSLATION Line 1. Grimme 1929: 135: 'Baʿls¹min has made this rock-peak'. Lines 1–2. Caskel followed by Al-Qudrah: '(he) forbade this woman to ascend the boulder'; Déroche; Bʿls¹mn placed the rock out-of-bounds to prevent a woman casting a spell against him'; Scagliarini: '(he) made the rock sacred territory so that no woman can climb it'; Farès-Drappeau: '(he) forbade the village to him whom his wife bewitches'. Lines 1–3. Jaussen & Savignac: 'Baʿals¹amīn has vowed to forbid [access to] the village because he cursed a woman, to (or by) Bahāni Hawnʾafkalat'; Jamme: 'Baʿals¹amīn has blazed with anger against this boulder because had cursed it the wife of Labbhany, the priestess'; Lundberg: 'Bʿls¹mn protected the village because the woman of the palm tree, the priestess of ... cast a spell on it'. Line 4. The letter ḏ is written on the left side of the line. It could be considered as an apotropaic symbol.
