- TEXT Line 1. Abū l-Ḥasan: [m]ʿ[n][z]y [ʾṭll l] for ----ʿ ʿzy ----. Line 2. Abū l-Ḥasan: ḏ[ġb[t] h- ṣll rather than ḏ---- h- ẓll. TRANSLATION Line 2. h- ẓll, Sima: 'the subterranean water-channel'. Line 3. dṯʾ -h, Abū l-Ḥasan: 'her spring harvest'; Sima: 'his/her spring field'. DISCUSSION Macdonald 1992: 2-3, 7 for dṯʾ.
- Commentary
- It is not clear whether the author was male or female. Line 3. The word ḏṯʾ, on Abū l-Ḥasan's copy (1997: 471, pl. 13), is probably a mistake by the carver for dṯʾ.
