DISCUSSION Hidalgo-Chacón Díez 2016: 128, for the divine name Ḏġbt.

Commentary

There appears to be only one person mentioned in line 1, and so it is not clear why the verbs in lines 2 and 3, and the pronominal suffix in line 2, are in the plural. Line 2: The verb ʾ{ẓ}l{w} means "they performed the ẓll-ceremony", the exact nature of which we do not know. Usually, but not always, this verb is followed by the noun h-ẓll meaning "the ẓll-ceremony". Thus, ʾ{ẓ}l{w} and ʾ{ẓ}l{w} h-ẓll both mean "they performed the ẓll-ceremony".
