Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus
TEXT Jaussen & Savignac: l ḫrʾl rather than ʿzrʾl; van den Branden: ʿḏrʾl for ʿzrʾl.
Commentary
The letters are all joined either by proximity or by ligatures and the first is joined by a ligature to the last of the three signs. Cf. Esk.005.

Associated Signs
L-R: (1) A vertical line with a dot on each side of the top and a V a third of the way down, and at the bottom an upside-down Safaitic ẓ.; (2) A horned visage with no features, the horns being used to join it to the signs of either side. (3) A vertical with counterposed Vs at either end and and a short upward diagonal to the left from the middle of the left stroke of the lower V. To the left of (1), but not apparently connected with the text (though there is nothing to the left of it, see Esk. p. 216) is (4) (L-R) a short vertical + a Taymanitic b + a dot. Below the end of the text is a sign (5) and upside-down Taymanitic l + a dot + a Taymanitic l + a dot, and below the first dot a vertical line.
