Commentary
Only the end is visible on the photograph of Esk. 44, and it is not read by Eskoubi.

Associated Signs
At the beginning of the text there is the sign like at Taymanitic b with a short diagonal line rising internally from the foot of the left vertical. There is a similar sign at the beginning of JSTham 497. Cf. JSTham 514 and 521 where a similar sign is followed on the left by a straight vertical stroke.
