Interpretation

Commentary
The inscription is carved round the edge of a shallow limestone tripod platter. A very thinly inscribed tail can be seen on the first letter of the author's name making it a Hismaic ḥ rather than a ṭ . There are several interesting aspects to this inscription. Firstly, it is carved by a woman, as are several of the inscriptions on stone vessels. Secondly, the shapes of the letters s¹ and s² are strange. The s¹, if that is what it is, has a bizarre shape, while the s² is closer to is rather longer than is normal in Hismaict, and the hook at one end is unexpected, though it occurs in the name rs² in the Hismaic inscription WTI 11.
