By Ẓnʾl son of Mġny son of Nʿmn son of Mtn son of Nqm son of S¹wr and {he stopped briefly} for the sake of the camels being afraid (and) tʾmr. So {O} {Lt} grant vengeance on whoever committed the act requiring vengeance and blind whoever scratches out this inscription

- Commentary
- For ḫyf we would suggest comparing Classical Arabic ḫāʾif "afraid" (Lane 824b). The verb varies between ḫwf and ḫyf in Safaitic (see Al-Jallad & Jaworska in press under ḫwf). We have not been able to suggest a meaning for tʾmr in this context.
