Interpretation

Commentary
A line of the m has been extended to join the letter to the following b and the arms of the b are attached to the letter read as n. The line read as n is long and has a short horizontal line at one end. It is possible that the additions have been made later or the letter should be read as a z. There are then two relatively large hammered circular shapes which obscure two or more letters and there is a line hammered under them. The t at the end has arms attached to the ends of two of the crossed lines. Lane 1745a: ṣūrah "image picture". On the significance of the scene for our understanding of mounted warfare among the ancient nomads od Arabia and its surroundings see Macdonald 2015.
