- This was the legion which was moved to the Roman Province of Arabia as soon as it was annexed in AD 106 and remained there for several centuries.
- Provenance
- On the south-south-west corner of the ridge forming the left bank of the tributary Wādī which flows from the north-north-west into the basin of the Wādī Shām in which the island with the mausoleum (site 45 = NI) stands. Site NBL.D is approximately 650 m west-south-west of site NI (45) and consists of the corner and the cliffs approximately 500 m along the left bank of the tributary. This ridge continues round the sharp corner west-south-west upstream in the tributary to a point where the Wādī is split by the ridge (site NBR, 7.5). Pools in this Wādī were still full of water in mid July 1995.
