- TEXT Lines 4–5. Gazdar et al.: hḏ[n] at the end of line 4 and in line 5. TRANSLATION Line 4. ʾs¹, Gazdar et al.: 'man (?)'; Sima: '(he) of the tribe'.
- Commentary
- The two photographs of the inscription are very different. The black-and-white one showing the stone split in two was published in Gazdar et al.1984: Pl. 85 D, while the colour one was published in Saudi Commission for Tourism & Antiquities 2012: 158. It is clearly the same stone and in the colour one it is just possible to see that the stone has been brilliantly restored. The text is broken along the left side with the loss of one letter in each line. The first letter of the lineage name could by a h or a ḫ and what follows it is too damaged to allow a viable reading. We have taken ʾs¹ in line 4 as the second part of a double name.
