Interpretation
- Commentary
- HaNSC connects the name Hrml to the Arabic verb harmal 'to wear out, ruin', e.g. harmalati 'l-ʿaǧūz: baliyat mina 'l-kubr "she was worn on account of age". The final y is about three letter spaces removed from the l, which could suggest that part of the inscription has been worn away and the final word is not a nisba.
