Translation
By Ġṯ son of Ṣyd son of Nhb and he found the writing of his father and the writing of his brother and of ẖḏm and Ḥmlt and Rġṭ and so he grieved in pain and despaired of a long life [or of remaining]

Interpretation

Commentary
bn: The b of the second bn has a short line just below the upper curve, which makes it look like a r. {s¹}fr: The s¹ is mostly covered by damage on the stone, but it is clear that only a s¹ would make sense here. ẖḏm w ḥmlt w rġṭ: These all seem to be names of the people whose inscriptions the author found. ng{ʿ}: There is very little distinction between the size of the g and the ʿ. ʿmr: This seems to be either the maṣdar of ʿmr “to remain” or the noun ʿmr “long life”. Given the context of grieving for people whose inscriptions he found, one would suggest that the latter meaning is most likely. The writing of the author's two sons (BES20 82 and 83) are on the same stone.
