Interpretation
- Commentary
- The lām auctoris is not visible on the stone, but is presumably covered by the abrasion on the left hand side of the face. yml{k}: The final letter is only visible as a short vertical line. The reading of k has been given for two reasons. Firstly, the name Ymlk is common, whereas a reading of Ymln would be unattested, although not impossible. Secondly, the genealogy of ʾs²yb bn Ymlk has been found twice before (KRS 1786, WH 450). It seems likely that either the part of the stone bearing the end of the inscription has broken away or the text continues on the other side of the stone.
