KhBG 97
Text Information
- Siglum
- KhBG 97
- Transliteration
- l ʿmm bn nd h- ʿr
- Translation
- By ʿmm son of Nd is the hybrid
Interpretation
- Apparatus Criticus
- KhBG 97: "ndb" for "nd"
- Commentary
- The editor does not comment on the lack of a b after the d in the copy and it is possible that it could seen on the photograph but was accidentally omitted from the copy. See Macdonald (in press, a) for the reasons for translating ʿ(y)r in Safaitic as a hybrid, that is a "mule" (the offspring of a male donkey x female horse) or a "hinny" (the offspring of a male horse x female donkey).
