Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus: King (1990: 619–620) commented: "The h was originally left out and has been added to the left of the w and ḏ. Jobling (1986: 264–265) reads the text w h ḏs²ry r mʿz and translates it ‘And O ḏs²ry see (the) goats’. It is most unlikely that the imperative of the verb raʾā ‘see’ would lose the medial radical ʾ despite the orthography in Ar. (Wright I: 93) I would prefer to emend the letter to l. There seems to be a y after the z which is not read by Jobling (1986: 264–265).
