- By Zd son of Rgl and he pastured the camels on this valley-side the year Caesar' s son died and he heard that Philippus had been killed but he scoffed and [by him is] the young she-camel and O Gdḍf curse whoever may scratch out that which gives pleasure and [grant] booty to whoever leaves the words untouched
Interpretation
- Commentary
- S¹ḫr could be related to Arabic saḫira min-hu "he scoffed at him" (Lane 1324a), though it should be followed by min here. Note that the abrupt change of subject at w h- bkrt is paralleled in LP 169. See the discussions in Macdonald 1995: 286–287; and 2014: 151.
- Provenance
- This inscription was rediscovered and photographed by the Badia Epigraphic Survey in 2018 and the co-ordinates given are exact.
