- RWQ 1: tġwḍ for ts²w{q}.
- Commentary
- The verb after ḥll is difficult to interpret. Rusān read it as tġwḍ which is certainly how it appears, but it is difficult to find a meaning for such a verb which would fit this context. In Arabic, taġawwaḍa means "to compensate" (Hava 509) and, understandably, is not used with the preposition ilā. On the other the phrase ts²wq ʾl- "he longed for" is very common in Safaitic. It would therefore seem that the author wrote a ḍ instead of a q here.
