- Translation
- By Ṣʿd son of Ṣʿd son of ʾdm and he stayed near a permanent source of water in this valley the year in which the tribe of Ḍf pastured the s¹ʿdy and he was on the look-out and so O Gdḍf [grant] security from the one who is on the look-out and a safe reunion of loved ones
Interpretation
- Commentary
- The word s¹ʿdy can probably be explained from Arabic saʿdān "one of the best kinds of pasture for camels". The final -n apparently having been added by Arab grammarians (see Lane 1362a). cf RmNSWQ 336
