Interpretation

Commentary
There are scratches over most of the inscription. The first ḏ is slightly doubtful and the top of the following letter is covered by some hammering. It might be a l or the damage might cover the zig-zag of a ġ or the small loop of a y. Jabal ʿAnāzah is north of Al-Safāwī in north-east Jordan (32.37583333 N 37.07194444 E). On the other hand it is possible that ʿnzt is "a long flat-topped hill rising from a plain" (Groom 1983: 41).
