Interpretation
- Apparatus Criticus
- KhMNS: ʾdmt for ʾ- dmt; translation of ʾdmt "(this) gazelle" ([hāḏihi] 'l-ġazāl)
- Commentary
- KhS connects ʾdmt to Arabic ʾadmāʾ, pl ʾadam "a type of gazelle characterized by a long neck and beautiful eyes". It is so far unattested in Safaitic, so it might be better to regard this as the plural dmt of dmyt preceded by the ʾ- definite article (Al-Jallad). image not available
