- Transliteration
- l s²ddt bn ʿḏ w ṯbr ḥwlt w ḥbs¹ f rʿy
- Translation
- By S²ddt son of ʿḏ and he expelled Ḥwlt and held (them) in check. And he shepherded.
Interpretation
- Commentary
- ṯbr ḥwlt = perhaps another term for 'raided Ḥwlt', ṯbr already possibly attested as a soldier? ḥbs¹ = and he captured (i.e. an animal, perhaps a camel) f rʿy = and he pastured (i.e., the animal) So, if we take ḥbs¹ as a prisoner of war, we lose the connection between it and the last verb.
