Text Information

Siglum
WH 1776
Transliteration
l ʾglḥ bn gr bn ʾglḥ bn dtm bn yqm bn hls¹ bn s¹l bn kbʾ bn l{w}ḏ
Translation
By ʾglḥ son of Gr son of ʾglḥ son of Dtm son of Yqm son of Hls¹ son of S¹l son of Kbrʾ son of {Lwḏ}

Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus
WH: wtm for dtm; s¹rʾ for kbʾ; {b}{n} ngḏ for bn l{w}ḏ
Commentary
The initial letter of the fourth name is clearly d not w as read by WH. The penultimate name is clearly kbʾ rather than WH's s¹rʾ (compare the r of the second name). The initial letter of the last name is too long to be a n and must surely be a l. The next letter is damaged and could be either a w or a g.

Provenance
WH Cairn 23 and this inscription were rediscovered and photographed by the Badia Epigraphic Survey in 2018 and the co-ordinates given are exact.
