Text Information

Siglum
WH 3420
Transliteration
l ʿḏ bn ʾs¹ ḏ- ʾl ṣbḥ w l- -h [h-] rgm
Translation
By ʿḏ son of ʾs¹ of the lineage of Ṣbḥ and for him is [the] cairn

Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus
WH: l ʿrm bn hb for l ʿḏ bn ʾs¹
Commentary
Note the Hismaic forms of the ḏ. As is very common, the 3rd person masculine singular enclitic pronoun has assimilated the following definite article, thus l-h-rgm for *l-h h-rgm. See Macdonald 2004: 507, § 7.

Provenance
WH Cairn 46 and this inscription were rediscovered and photographed by the Badia Epigraphic Survey in 2018 and the co-ordinates given are exact.
