By Mġyr son of Ḥny son of S¹ʿd son of ʿbd son of ʿḏ son of S²rb son of Ġlmt and he grieved for his brother and {he returned to a watering place} from Ḥrn [in] this valley [with] herbage and O Lt [grant] security and blindness to whoever scratches out the inscription

Interpretation
- Commentary
- At the beginning, there is what looks like a false start which was then scratched over. Note that while the passage wṣ{w}r h-ʿrḍ bql m- ḥrn is not easy to make out on the photographs, Macdonald's hand copy, made in situ, shows all the letters and he noted at the time that all the letters are "clear on the stone, except for the w which could be a ʿ ". We would suggest that ṣwr is a variant of the more usual ṣyr.
