Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus: TEXT Eskoubi: l s²ms¹ h ln for [sign] l<> ms¹ḫ b. Kootstra 2016:111: l <.> ms¹{s²/ḫ)l / for l <> ms¹ḫl
Commentary: The sign after the initial l is probably a mistake which the author tried to erase. It resembles a Thamudic B f. It is therefore possible to read lm s¹ḫl or l ms¹ḫl. For ʾs¹ as "leader" see Macdonald 1992: 30–31. It is clear that the third sign must be a ḫ not a s² since it is immediately preceded by a s¹.

Associated Signs: (1). At the beginning, a sign consisting of a right angle open to the left with a diagonal from the angle and a horizontal to the right at the foot of the vertical. (2). At the point where the text turns, a Taymanitic b on its side opening to the right with a V resting on its top left.
