Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus
LP 393: [l-] -h s¹nt wm ʿlb "to him in the year in which he directed his steps towards a hard and barren ground (?)" for h- s¹nt w m<<>>{r}{b} ---- "this year and m<<>>{r}{b}-----"
Commentary
The last 8 letters are on an adjacent face of the stone. The last four are less carefully carved than the rest of the text and it is difficult to make sense of them in this context. There are two short lines immediately after the last m which are much thicker than the letters of text and seem to be extraneous. Note that there is another inscription (Is.Mu 230) on the same face as the end of LP 393 (Is.M. 227).
