Interpretation

Commentary
The word ḫrṣ can mean "he was on the look-out" or "he was hungry and cold". Since there is no w between ṣyr and ḫrṣ, ḫrṣ describes the circumstances in which "he returned to a watering place", in which case "he was hungry and cold" would seem to be a more appropriate translation, though "keeping watch" is not impossible.
