OCIANA 1: ----rʾl bn mty h- tll fʿl -h ʿwḏn, trans. '----rʾl son of Mty are the words ʿwḏn made them'
- Commentary
-
The beginning of the inscription is under the encrustation on the rock. ʿwḏn should be understood as a nominal form of the root ʿwḏ 'protection.' The final part of the inscription is an unformulaic blessing to protect the writing from harm.
