Interpretation
- Commentary
- It is possible the third letter of the second name should be read as a q. K 44 which is a wasm is on the same rock. The translation of rʿy as "he tended or kept" is more appropriate here than "he pastured"; mrḥ is translated from Arabic murāḥ "nightly resting-place of cattle camels sheep or goats" (Lane 1183b). However Lisān also glosses mrḥ as al-arḍ al-saḥl.
