Translation
By S¹ʾr son of {ʾ----ʿm} ---- son of Qʿṣn and he stayed by permanent water in a torrent bed in the Ruḥbah and then migrated to the inner desert with some camels

Interpretation

Commentary
For the translation of ḫrm compare Classical Arabic ḫarm "a bed trenched by a torrent" (Lane 730c). The Ruḥbah (see Macdonald 1992: 24–25), does indeed have south "trenches" since it receives the flash floods from both the Wādī al-Shām and the Wādī al-Gharz.
