Interpretation
- Commentary
- The second letter of the patronyn is partially covered by damage to the stone, so only a straight line is visible. A tentative reading of ḫzr is presented here, due to the attestation of a drbt bn ḫzr in CEDS 44. The direction of the inscription, if the reading is correct, is very peculiar. The inscription seems to run vertically downwards along the right-hand side of the stone and then a lightly hammered large f is visible above the r of ḫzr. The inscription then seems to restart with the vocative h to the left of the t of drbt and run downwards again. When the inscription reaches the lightly hammered f (after the w of rḍw) it continues again horizontally along the bottom of the stone, right-left. The letters after rwḥ are unclear. Josef Bloomfield
