Interpretation
- Commentary
- The inscription is faded on the stone, so is difficult to read. There does not seem to be the vocative h before the name of Rḍw, nor before Lt. The w after ġnmt is rather uncertain. The reading seems a large angular w, similar to the w of Rḍw but larger. The letters following lt are clear on the stone, but difficult to make sense of. It is possible that the word reads mlk, similar to the Classical Arabic milk, ‘property, possession’, etc (Hava 726a). Josef Bloomfield
