Interpretation

Commentary
The entry is split into three, as it is not clear how this inscription connects with the letters in the middle of the stone. It is likely that the third inscription (BES20 1254.3) begins with a lām auctoris above the first bn of BES20 1254.2, but the direction of the text becomes confused. The letters w{ʿ}l are written directly after wʿl, the third name in BES20 1254.1. The letters in the middle of the stone are left uninterpreted in BES20 1254.3. Josef Bloomfield
