Interpretation

Commentary
The lām auctoris and perhaps the first letter of the author's name is covered by damage on the stone. The first visible letter is clearly a ṭ, nevertheless upon close inspection it seems to have four vertical lines instead of three. The reading here assumes that this is a mistake by the author. Nevertheless, it is possible that the fourth vertical line is actually a separate letter (l or r). A name reading ṭryf or ṭlyf has not previously been attested. The end of the inscription is not visible in the photograph.  Josef Bloomfield
