Interpretation

Commentary

The reading of this text is absolutely clear but the two verbs that appear in it, which are recurring in the corpus, have yet to be understood. 

tThis could be connected to the root tt, meaning 'to scrape off, remove', a plausible verb of 'carving'. 

ġys²: No such root is attested, but it possible that the and  have been confused. This recalls the spelling of the god Yaġū in Hasaitic as yġs² (SHI 22).
