Interpretation

Commentary

The word following the lam auctoris seems to be a personal name, although it is unattested. But it is also unlikely that the author omitted the word for son bn.

twb: The verb twb is cognate with Classical Arabic tāba, which means 'to repent.' Here, a more concrete meaning is preferred, namely, 'to return, come again', cf. Aramaic tāb. The form without an interdental would appear to be an Aramaic loan as the Arabic cognate, ṯāba, is attested. 

fnyt: This is a frequently attested toponym referring to the edge of the Harrah where it meets the Hamad.
