By Ns²l son of Mʿn son of Mṭl the lineage of Tm and he served as a guard (or: stood guard) for Dmṣy in (a formation of) five cavalry units, the year of the war of ʿmm

Interpretation

Rawabdeh and Al-Husan (2018: 470), translation of the narrative: "...he was on the look out for Dmṣy with five hundred horses in the year of the war of ʿmm"
Commentary
The verb nẓr can mean 'to be on the look out' or 'to guard', with the benefactive preposition ʿl- (SafDict, 108b). On the revolt of Dmṣy in the Safaitic inscriptions, see Rawabdeh and Al-Husan 2018.
