Translation

Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus
TEXT Line 4. Sima restores the beginning of this line with the word [nḫl -h] to follow the preposition bʿd at the end of line 3. The lacuna at the beginning of line 4 could equally well be filled with the expression ml -h (U 005/4-5, etc.) or ṯbrt -h (U 013/4, etc.). TRANSLATION Line 2. [h-] ẓll, Sima: 'the subterranean water-channel for Ḏġbt'. Line 3. khl bʿd, Sima: 'by her abilities in the direction of'. DISCUSSION Hidalgo-Chacón Díez 2014: 18, 20–22, for the place names Tqmm and Khl.
Commentary
The inscription is incised. Part of the rock to the right of this text has broken away with the loss of the beginning of each of the lines.

Provenance
Al-ʿUḏayb (Jabal ʿIkmah). The inscription is carved at the far right end of the rock which Stiehl (1971: 4) called ‘Block A’
