- TRANSLATION Line 2. ʾẓllw, Sima: '(they) covered (the subterranean water-channel)'. Line 3. bʿd, Sima: 'in the direction of'; dṯʾ, Sima: 'the spring field'. DISCUSSION Macdonald 1992: 2–3, 7 for dṯʾ. Hidalgo-Chacón Díez 2014: 23, for the place name h-Mḏhb.
- Commentary
- Line 2. The verb ʾẓllw means "they performed the ẓll-ceremony", the exact nature of which we do not know. Usually, but not always, this verb is followed by the noun h-ẓll meaning "the ẓll-ceremony". Thus, ʾẓllw and ʾẓllw h-ẓll both mean "they performed the ẓll-ceremony". Line 3. The enclitic pronoun of the third singular masculine can refer both to Qhn or to her relative.
