Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus
TEXT Jaussen & Savignac: mn ʿzrʾl f ṣby for [Wasm] ʿzrʾl {b} ṣby [Wasm]; Winnett: f ẓby rather than {b} ṣby; van den Branden ʿḏrʾl fṣby for ʿzrʾl b ṣby.
Commentary
A straight horizontal line running right-to-left with a wasm at each end. The first name is attested several times in Taymanitic, but the second is known only from this text (in JSTham 497 the ṣ is doubtful). The b between the names is slightly damaged, but it is not in doubt.

Associated Signs
At the beginning of the text there is the sign like at Taymanitic b with a short diagonal line rising internally from the foot of the left vertical. It is followed to the left by a straight vertical line, as in JSTham 521. Cf. JSTham 497 and 498 where the vertical line is absent. At the end is a sign like a Nabataean br but with the base line protruding to the left of the “b”. Cf. the sign at the end of JSTham 478.
