BRCM 39.2

Text Information

Siglum
BRCM 39.2
Transliteration
l ʿbdt bn ʾnʿm bn ḥs²{f}n {b}n {h}ls¹ w wgm ʿl- mnʿ
Translation
By ʿbdt son of ʾnʿm son of {Ḥfs²n} {son of} {Hls¹} and he grieved for Mnʿ

Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus
BRCM: ḥffn for ḥs²fn; mnʿt for mnʿ. Translation: "For ʿbdt son of ʾnʿm son of Ḥffn son of Hls¹ and I grieve for Mnʿt".
Commentary
The second text from the top reading from left to right. As in BRMV 39.1 the third letter of the third name is damaged and has been restored on the basis of BRCM 19.3 where it is clear that the second letter (s²) is different from the third (f). The b of the following bn is more like a s¹ than a b. The side-stroke of what according to the other examples of this genealogy should be a h at the beginning of the next name has been almost completely destroyed by the hammering beside it. There is no sign of the t which BRCM reads after mnʿ, only a strange shape like an upside-down question mark!
