Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus
Macdonald & Al-Najem (2016) commented: "A long piece of red sand sandstone (70 x 20 x 21 cm max) with two lines of Taymanitic letters. It is broken at the right end with a probable loss of text. The letters are badly inscribed and many have been hammered over along the incising lines and elsewhere, but it is still possible to read the texts with some confidence. It would appear that the texts are a brother and sister, thought it would be very unusual to find ʿbd as the name of a woman and it is possible that the n before it is part of the name. However, this does not really help since *nʿbd has not been found as a name before. ʿqds¹ is also unknown. Not previously published".
