Interpretation

Commentary: fḥm{n}: The n is much longer than the other n's in the inscription and looks like a l. There is an apparent line of damage between the f and the ḥ. The final letter, unlike the lam auctoris does not have a hook. The name fḥml would be unattested. This inscription is the only inscription on the stone that does not appear to be part of the same family. The stone bears seven inscriptions by brothers, all sons of ḥrs¹. BES20 123 is by an author called ḥrs¹, possibly the father of the seven brothers. The brothers' inscriptions are all scratched and the possible father's is hammered.
