Interpretation
- Commentary
- The expression bny l- (as opposed to bny ʿl-) can mean that the author built anything for a person e.g. s¹tr (AbSWS 81), s¹trt (BES17 1289), ẓlt (C 4446), ʾḫḏt (ASWS 135) and of course rgm. Indeed, we know from KRS 1535, 1540, 1544, 1545 that in this case it was a burial cairn (rgm).
- Provenance
- Although photographs of this stone were previously labelled "Al-Mafraq Museum 69" this is incorrect. The stone is not in the museum but is still in Al-Wādī al-Abyaḍ and was rediscovered there by Ali Al-Manaser on 18/06/2021.
