Interpretation
- Commentary
- The inscription runs downwards immediately in front of the camel and continues between its legs. The verb ʾqḏ has occurred three times before, in two of which the object is a she-camel (WH 1234 nqt and AbaNS 16 bkrt) . Although in Arabic, the root W-Ḏ-Ḏ is primarily to do with trimming the feathers for arrows, qaḏḏa and qāḏḏaḏa can mean "to cut, trim (the hair)" (Hava 593).
