This inscription accompanies a drawing of a woman holding a lyre at right angles to a horseman. It is likely that the woman mentioned in the inscription is depicted in the drawing. The author appears to invoke the god Rḍy to grant him retribution against a woman who, after supporting her materially, had done something to betray him.
ʿyl: This likely cognate with Classical Arabic ʿāla (ʿwl) 'to support, supply with sustenance' (Lane, 2200a). Less likely is a connection with ʿāla (ʿyl) 'to be in need' (Lane, 2212), which does not seem to take a direct object.
nqmt: The n and q are completely clear but the area following this has been chipped off. The lacuna, however, accomodates two letters and the following preposition m- securely restores the word as nqmt, which is attested frequently in Safaitic prayers. The reason for the author's desire for revenge is no doubt explained after the first conjunction f, but the letters after tr are not clear. Perhaps pre-existing damage on the rock did not permit the author to continue his text in this spot and tr is complete. One might connect this to the verb tāra 'to return to an action', but what that would signify in the present context is unclear.
